This course addresses all major aspects of property and asset management. Participants will learn how to establish a cost-effective management plan that increases profitability, conserves resources and reduces risk exposure for properties managed.
Establish, classify, and maintain a property inventory
Develop simplified management policies and procedures
Identify and evaluate risks, hazards and liabilities
Establish ownership monitoring schedules to control encroachments and other unauthorized uses
Decide if property should be leased, sold or held
Recognize advantages and pitfalls of joint use agreements
Effectively repair and maintain improved properties
Profitably dispose of excess lands or property rights

INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Kenneth Stanberry, SR/WA, was educated at California State University Dominguez Hills and at University of Denver’s, Burns School of Real Estate & Construction Management. He is a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser and a licensed Real Estate Broker in California. Mr. Stanberry is currently employed by the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department (Port of Los Angeles) Real Estate Division. In this capacity he manages a portfolio which includes industrial, commercial and retail properties. In addition, he currently serves as the Chairman for the International Asset Management Community of Practice and the Chairman of the Nominations, Elections and Awards Committee for IRWA Chapter 1. He has professionally served as IRWA Chapter President, Director of Technology, Certified Army Instructor, Real Property Appraiser, and Real Estate Broker Associate.
